How do I tell if I've got DDRam or SDRam?

Got a Celeron 1.70 here
using win XP home there is 256 ram card in it at the moment and I
was thinking of getting another stick to speed it up a little bit

How do I go about telling if it is DD or SD?

Take it out and look at the contacts - SDRam has two notches and DDR has
just one notch. You could count the contacts as well if you really want!
Have a look at a few online shops - compare the pictures with the module you
have.
