How do I stop sending a message?

My dad has Windows Mail on his computer. I was trying to send pictures from
there to my mail, but it keeps saying it's sending but it takes forever. How
do I stop the message from sending?? I tried closing the mail window, but
when I open it again, it still says it's trying to send. S.O.S. HELP!!!

Click on the Outbox, then the message, then the red X near the middle of the
toolbar. You may have to break your connection to the internet to make this
work.
