How do I stop receiving duplicate emails?

For some reason, every message that is sent to me duplicates itself in my
mailbox. I recently purchased and installed Microsoft Office III and this is
when the problem incurred. Does anyone have any feedback about this problem
and how to fix it. I've done several things such as make sure that the
"checked box" in settings is not checked (leave a copy of the email on the
server). I called Microsoft and was put on hold for almost an hour without
anyone ever coming to assist me. I think that they charge if you try it a
second time. I'm just so frustrated with this whole thing. If anyone out
there can give me help please

Have you set up any rules that move or copy certain messages to folders?
If so, make sure they also include the "stop processing more rules" action.
Do you have anti-virus software that scans incoming messages? If so,
disable the mail scanning - it's unnecessary and might lead to this.
