How do I stop programs starting when windows does?

Hi,

For some reason Windows Media player has decided to run
every time I start my PC. How do I stop this?

Well, that depends on HOW it is starting...
STARTUP? HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\RUN?
HKEY_CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\RUN? An
assortment of other registry values? An assorment of other ways?

Easiers way to find out.. START -> RUN
msconfig
Select the "Startup" tab..
See what may be causing it and uncheck it and reboot.
