How do I stop Outlook disconnecting after receiving emails

When I send and receive emails, either signed on internet or not. I am
disconnected by Outlook once email process of sending and receiving is
completed. There must be an easy answer to stop this happening. There used
to be a box you could check to stop it from disconecting, but I cannot find
it.
