How do I stop multiple 'WORD' icons appearing in taskbar.

Each open Word file has its own icon in my taskbar. I have been able to
switch this feature off in Excell and Access but cannot find the switch for
Word 2000.

"Tools", "Options", "View" TAB, "uncheck "Windows in TaskBar".

Word 2000 does not have this option. It was introduced in Word 2002. There
is a macro kicking about that purports to do something similar - see
