How do I split an MP3 file?

I have an entire album consisting of several songs that was ripped to MP3
into one continuous file that plays for an hour. Is there any way I can edit
this MP3 file to extract the individual songs and then 're-rip' them?

You may be confused in your terminology. You can either "re-rip" them as
separate mp3 files from the original CD, or split that big mp3 file you
already have into individual tracks. This freeware mp3 splitter will do
