I'm using Office XP Pro, and can't figure out how to show the file name
on the printed form. Your help is appreciated .......Peter

Peter,

Type { Filename } with { } entered by pressing CTRL+F9. Rigth click and
select toggle field codes.

Hello Greg, I did what you told me to do, it looked like I was doing
everything right, but the filename did not print on the form. I had the
cursor right on top, and the filename was entered, right after I right
clicked the field code it got lost. Please be kind, I'm all wet on this,
and I need to get this done.......Many thanks for your help........Peter

Peter,

Right click and select "Update Field" after you have entered { Filename }
using CTRL+F9 to enter the field brackets { } .

Sorry for the confusion.

Peter

No. Write filename inside the curly brackets. Not THE REAL filename but
actually write FILENAME.

Hello Greg, still nothing, I appreciate your patience. Here is what I
do. Cursor is on top of page, just because I don't know where else to
put the cursor. Maybe it should be on the bottom of the page where the
filename should be? Anyway, then I hit Ctrl F9, and up comes the curly
brackets kind of shaded for a moment. I then enter the name of the file
incl.. the ext. Then I right click the mouse in the filed of the name,
and click on Update field. At that point nothing happens. I look at the
print preview to see if the name would be on the document, but I can't
see it. I also print it out, hoping that it would print anyway, but
nothing there either. I must be doing something wrong. Like I said I
appreciate your help........Peter

If you're working in the header or footer, just select the "Filename" or
"Filename and path" entry from the AutoText menu (you can also select this
from the full AutoText menu in a document).
