How do I show columns in subreport only?

I would like to add a subreport at the begining of the main report. The
subreport I want to use was created with columns. When I insert it into the
main report it displays with only one column, the same settings as the main
report. Can I set-up the subreport to show columns and the main report to
remain with no columns?
I am using Access 2000.

Subreport columns must be set to display Across Then Down. There are complex
methods for fooling the columns.

Hi Duane, Thanks for the response, but when the columns are set for the main
report, the format is improper. I want the first page of the report to show a
2 column subreport and the remainder of the report to be one column. There
doesn't seem to be a property in the subreport that can do this.

A subreport can have multiple columns regardless of the settings on the main
report. You should make sure that if you are using Access 2000, you have the
latest service packs installed.
