How do I share a Word 2002 document?

I would like to share a LAN based Word 2002 document between two people. I
don't want to use email or a Web based solution. Is there a way?
 
Are these two people on the same local area network? If so, you can just
put it on your server. If you have a peer-to-peer network, then you
would need to create a share on someone's machine.

If these people are not on the same LAN, then email, ftp, or the web are
probably going to be your only choices.
