how do I share a scanner in windows XP?

Does anybody know how to share a USB scanner (hp scanjet
2400) in windows XP with another computer in my network
also using windows XP. I have succesfully setup a network,
but do not know how to share the scanner.

The quick answer is - you don't. You can't share a scanner like you can a
printer. There are a few scanners that have network sharing facilities but
if yours doesn't then you're out of luck.

Yes, you can get exactly the software you need to do this from here:
http://www.remote-scan.com

It is low-cost comercial software, but you can download and test
before you buy. It works for me.
