How do I set up Outlook 2003 for "inner office" email?

We just installed a new workstation and I am having a heck of a time getting
it (XP Outlook 2003) setup so that the "inter office" email will function
properly for the user. The server uses NT as the OS and all other
workstations use OS's that range from Win 98 (Office 2000) to MS ME (Office
2000). It seems that the email account options in Outlook 2003 do not
include "Microsoft Mail" which is used in the other outlook express/outlook
setups to allow for "inter office" email. Any assistance would help greatly
and would be greatly appreciated.

MS Mail is old and unsupported - and won't work natively in any version of
OL past 2000. You should migrate your company off of this - in the meantime,
maybe check out an unsupported hack (for OL2002 - don't know if it will work
in 2003) here: http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/msmail_xp.htm

Well, it is as I suspected. I feared that our network and much of our
software has been outdated for some time...but hoped that there might have
been an answer. Will check out your proposed hack...thanks.

Guess I will have to push even harder to get the rest of the system
upgraded...unfortunately, it is difficult when you have to take on the beast
called budgeting.. :)

Thanks again.

You can try this one for Outlook 2003:

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, michael asked:
