how do i set up my fax machine

i have broadband and no phone line it is on cable from my tv provider can io
set up a fax or am i wasting my time i want to usae the fax on the xp system

XP's built-in FAX utility - and your dedicated FAX machines - both need a
standard phone line. XP FAX needs a standard modem as well.
