I have outlook 2003, everything works great! when I installed office beta2,
outlook 2007; I can connect to the server; but I can not send any email. I
get this error message 535 AUTHENTICATION FAILED. I have tried all the
settings that my ISP had given. This is a imap account. Can anyone help?

And what instructions were those?

Hi

After having had Outlook 2007 Beta working for a month or two now with an
IMAP server with AOL as my ISP, suddenly, this week, I have now encountered
this problem where I can recive mails, but not send them and I get the '535
Authentication Failed' message, despite settings not knowingly changing. The
settings I used are as listed at
http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/assistance/HA010936921033.aspx

I have checked with an install of Office 2003 on another PC in my home
office that I can send and recieve mails normally, but just not with Office
2007 and, as stated, this is something that has occured within the last 14
days.

I look forward to any help with this, please.

My understanding is that the problem may be on AOL's end. You're not the only one having trouble.

Hi Sue

Thanks for your reply. However, I have also seen a posting from a customer
on Compuserve having the same problem.

Having had loads of trouble with AOL recently, it would give me great
pleasure to go back to them, but I have to be sure first.
