XP Home edition is not an email client! You can do it IF you connect to
Exchange Server with Outlook, otherwise you can do it with a rule, but
that is not very satisfactory. have you looked into whether your ISP has
an Out of Office facility on their servers?
The Out of Office Assistant feature in Microsoft Outlook is a Microsoft Exchange
Server service. If you're not using this service, see this article for a
workaround:
