Hi, sassykate;
You can create shortcuts in Outlook 2003, by opening the shortcut pane,
creating a new shortcut group, and dragging folders to it. I was not able to
enable drag and drop to one of these, and I did not wish to experiment
further because:
You can drag and drop to any folder in the quick-launch area of the taskbar,
drag and drop to "My Documents" through Start menu, and if you've chosen to
display "My Documents" as a menu, you can drill down and drop an item in any
sub-folder.
So, my suggestion is to put shortcuts to those commonly used folders in the
quick-launch, and if your boss wants them on the left, either put his taskbar
on the left (where I've got mine) or unlock the taskbar, peel off the
quick-launch, and dock THAT on the left.
For an alternate suggestion, if displaying "My Documents" as a menu, drag
shortcuts of selected folders from there to the "pinned" (top left) area of
the Start Menu. Drag and drop works there, also.
To display "My Documents" as a menu, right-click the taskbar, then choose
Properties> Start Menu> Customize> Advanced> Start menu items:
You will see that option and others there.
Regards,
Ian.

After furious head scratching, Sassykate75 asked:
| My boss has asked me to find out, how do create a shortcut to his my
| docs folder in outlook. apparently he used to be able to "drag &
| drop" into this shortcut, which would save it to his my docs.
| any suggestions?
| Also, any ideas as to how i would create extra shortcut bars (down
| the left hand sude of the screen) to specific sub folders?

| Thanks
