i'm trying to organize my children's days. on my old pc which i no longer
own, it had a format for it, i can't seem to find anything on this laptop, i
have windows xp. helllllp please

What were the information you were capturing in the format in your previous
PC? To start with, a separate field would have to be created in a new table
for each such information type.

What kind of "format"? Did you have a Word document, an Excel
spreadsheet, a Works file, an Access database, or what?

Children's chore charts are not normally installed as part of
WindowsXP or any other version of Windows. You must have had SOME sort
of file; I'd guess you'll need to reconstruct it, but without knowing
what program you used for it I can't be sure what it might have been!

It's too bad you didn't keep a backup file, but Access does provide a
Table Wizard that you can use to define some suitable fields quickly.
In Access 2000, the "Tasks" sample Table seems to have the kinds of
fields you might want to use, though you'd need to do something
additional if you want to make them periodic (such as every second
Saturday morning).

OTOH, it's possible you'd be better off using Outlook, depending on what
kinds of things you (or your child) wants to do with the information.
