Instead of Windows "Automatic Updates" running, I would like to
schedule the Microsoft Update website link to run at specified
intervals. How would I go about making Task Scheduler run a link? I
only see the option to make programs run? Thanks in advance.

And what is the point of having the browser open its window to display a web
page? You could just open IE to that URL and leave it open all the time.
Still ain't gonna do anything other than paint the web page.

I know you said that you did not want automatic updates to run but the best
way to schedule automatic updates is to schedule it in the Automatic Updates
widget in the Control Panel. If you are trying to avoid automatic loads of
updates you can configure that there as well.

To have a bit more control over the scheduling you would want to use a GPO.
Click Start --> Run --> MMC --> File --> Add/Remove Snap-in --> Add -->
Scroll down to Group Policy Object Editor --> Click once to highlite it -->
Click Add --> Click Finish to accept the default --> Click Close --> Click OK.

The icon under the console named Consol Root will be named Local Computer
Policy. Click on the + to expand.

Click the + next to Computer Configuration --> Click on the + next to
Administrative Templates --> Click on the + next to Windows Components -->
click on the Windows Update Folder. In this folder there are alot of choices
that can be made. But the one we are focused on is "configure Automatic
Updates". Choose Enable and the boxes below will no longer be greyed out.
You can now schedule it and the action you want to occur. I hope this helps.

You have a problem with the installation of the changes to your computer to
install Microsoft Update. Regret I do not know the solution.

After I installed Microsoft Update changes, Automatic Update started to use
Microsoft Update vice Windows Update. I know this because I receive critical
updates for Office 2003 using Automatic Update.

Additionally, in Control Panel, Automatic Update there is a link at the
bottom to Windows Update. When I click on this link, the connections
redirects from Windows Update to Microsoft Update. I just tried it, and the
URL changed to Microsoft Update and their was an optional Office 2003 update
pending.

To shorten this up by a mile:
Click Start --> Run --> gpedit.msc --> Press Enter
Then the following.
