How do I run an action query in a data access page?

I'm trying to set up a data access page for my business intranet to allow
users to view and update information. Based on the data that is entered, I
want to be able to update other fields that are deliberately not visible to
the users. I came up with the idea to run an action query to update the data
but I'm not sure how I can set a trigger in the web access page to run the
query. Is there a way to do that or is there another way I can update the
fields based on the user input?
