How do I rotate a textbox?

I am a math teacher using Office 2003, specifically Word 2003, and often need
to rotate text to match the angle of a digram. I currently have to open
another program that will allow me to free-rotate a textbox, then copy and
paste it into my Word document. I (and probably thousands of other teachers
who use word to make tests and worksheets) would appreciate an answer to this
question. I submitted a request to Microsoft several tears ago to allow
textboxes to be freely rotated but have not seen this option added to word.
There were word processing programs in the 80's that allowed free rotation of
textboxes...is it too much to ask now?

Yes, unfortunately it is too much to ask. :-(

You can rotate an AutoShape but if it contains text the text will not
be rotated. It works in PowerPoint but not Word.

A workaround for this issue in Word is to use WordArt.

Hi Paschke
Yes word art is the answer or use Microsoft Visio and then if required save
in a Word Format.
