How do I retrofit a dual-boot

I "upgraded" to WinXP from WinME some weeks ago, but it has become
apparent that I still need a lot of older apps that are unstable or
simply won't run under XP.

Does anyone know if it is feasible to reinstall WinME for dual-booting
on a FAT32 disk that already has WinXP installed?

TIA

Many thanks - here goes, fingers crossed!

Peter.

....however (there just had to be one didn't there?) Doug Knox's
procedure doesn't work with non-FAT (16 or 32) disks.

Now, although WinXP Explorer, properties of C: says my C: is FAT32,
but when I look at the sole partition on C: with fdisk, it simply says
"non-DOS", and the WinME installation only just gets past the disk
check before throwing a SU0013 error muttering something about MS-DOS
boot partitions, and aborting.

Do I need a boot manager? Can I get away with shareware e.ge OSL2000?
Or do I need something like BootItNG?

TIA

Peter

Hi,

How was the disk originally set up? If you used partitioning software, this
type of error can happen, even if it is FAT32. You may need to use a boot
manager.

Boot Managers and Partitioning programs:

BootIT NG www.terabyteunlimited.com
Partition Magic www.powerquest.com/partitionmagic
Partition Commander http://www.v-com.com/product/pc_ind.html
Ranish Partition Manager http://www.ranish.com/part/
