how do i retrieve a modified word document?

on monday october, 6, 2008 i created a project in microsoft words 2003. I
then save it as " enzymes are biomolecules that catalyze1". On tuesday,
october 7, i opened a new blank doument and continued my project. I then
saved the work as the title of the previous one. When i was ready to view the
project, i saw only the work that was done on the tuesday, in the exact name,
as monday. please help me by providing systematic approaches as to how i can
retrieve my document if possible. Thank you.
