How do i restore my backup email/contacts after reformatting?

I recently had to reformat. I am trying to restore my saved emails and
contacts that i backed up onto a cd before having to reformat. I am using
Outlook 2003. If anyone could please help me...i am definitely not an expert
on the computer but do know a little.
