HOW DO I RESTART MY COMPUTER??? PLEASE HELP!!!

Hey, my computer is really screwed up. I want to know how I just restart my computer so that there are no programs or anything on it. Basically so that it is the way it was when i first bought it. Email me at (e-mail address removed) . Thank you for your Help.
 
when my computer was getting bad i just used wipe drive a software you can buy at a computer store, its like 40$, its pretty self explanitory and gets the job done. Then i reinstalled windows XP ran like a champ
Make sure you have your windows XP cd and cd key before you wipe though because its not like system restore you are left with nothing.

Boot from a recovery disk, format the drive, and reinstall using your
original OS install disks.

This is really very painful...
