How do I resize the scroll bar

Sometimes the Excel spreadsheet minimizes the size of the scroll bar such
that the smallest movement of the bar results in large movements of the
spreadsheet. How can I control the resolution/size of the scroll bar?

The scrollbar reflects how big excel thinks your used range is.

But what excel thinks is the used range could be way different from what you
think.

If you hit ctrl-End, are you way past where you think it should be?
