How do I reset the columnwidth to sheet-default?

How do I reset the columnwidth to sheet-default?

just clearing the entry in the column-witdh dialog does not seem to work
(excel xp)
 
Format > Column > Standard Width and then record the Standard Width

select the column and :
Format > Column > Width... and type in the width you recorded
