My son was playing with his display settings yesterday - here's the result

1) The screen background looks normal resolutio
2) the task bar takes up about a quarter of the lower display
3) If you hit start - the programmes all come up but the icons and bars are about 5x normal siz
4) If you try and launch any program eg control panel to change the display settings, then an orange box will pop up (very large - guess this was his choice of colour) but you can't see anything/navigate to anything - i guess this is because the resolutions he has set is so quirk
5) Other user accounts on the machine are unaffecte

I need to find a way to reset all of his display settings (and preferences) back to normal - but can't find anything that will help me do this - most tools/techniques use pop up windows - and those are exactly the things I can't se

Help !! I am sure I cannot be along in having had a 9 year old mess up the display like this

Thank
Alan

Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
and select a Restore Point created prior to yesterday's date.

Thanks - but was wondering if there is another way to do this as it is only his account that has messed up display settings and did not want to roll back anything on any other user accounts

You can rename his profile folder, thus forcing a new profile to be created
for him. He will lose all his personal settings but his files will still
exist in the renamed folder.
