How do I replace text in PowerPoint with text that includes a sub.

I need to replace one word with another that includes a subscript character.
I can do it manually for each occurence, but I want to use the find and
replace tool. For example I cannot replace H2O with the same with the 2 as a
subscript (Icannot do it here either!!). Does anyone know how to do this?

Create a sample the way that you want, copy it and then go to Edit > Replace and
paste it in the "Replace with" box. Type H2O in the "Find what" box and click
on "Replace All".

Your solution is the obvious one and I am sure what was intended by the
program writers. But it does not work. If you type H2O with the two as a
subscript in word, then copy it and paste it into the "replace with" box, it
appears as H2O with the two as a full sized character. If you then proceed
with find next and replace, it will ignore H2O with the 2 as a full sized
character and leave them as they are. But entries with the 2 in H2O as a
subscript will be replaced with H2O with the two as a full sized character.
Exactly the opposite of the way it should work!!

Is there something in set up that allows subscripts (and superscripts) in
dialog boxes?

I'm sorry. If should have read your post more carefully You're absolutely
right. There may be a VBA solution, but it is certainly true that the
Find/Replace function doesn't honor the subscript text effect. It doesn't seem
to work in Word either, so it must be an Office wide condition.
