Hi Sam,
BartPE has a file manager. You can change the case there. Since
windows doesn't care about case, BartPE will let you make the change.
As to actually changing the name, ie. windows2 to windows, I don't
know if BartPE will let you do that. If it would, you would still have
to make all those changes in the registry that I mentioned earlier.
I've been using BartPE for a while now, and keep the disk in my
computer bag. I am waiting for a version that has USB support.
Ciao . . . C.Joseph

| Hi Stephen,
|
| You can't change the name of the Windows directory . . . I shouldn't
| say can't. To change the name from Windows2 to Windows, requires that
| you change every instance of Windows2 to Windows in the registry. What
| Sam wants to do is simply change the case of the name. Windows is not
| case sensitive, so his change would not require changes in the registry.
|
| Sam, I am a neat-nick and like my computer to look a certain way. I
| have use the BartPE disk for doing maintenance that Windows Explorer
| won't let me do.
