Hi;

I have two computers running XP. One is Professional and the other is the
Home edition. In both cases I have boxes surrounding the scrip below the
icons on the desktop. I have been to the control panel, display, appearance
and advanced. I can only change the color of the box. Clear is not an
option.

Please help,

Right-click on the desktop to show the context menu. Under the "Arrange
Icons By" selection, deselect the "Lock Web Items On Desktop".

Right-click on the My Computer desktop icon and select Properties from the
context menu, or run the System applet in Control Panel. Under the Advanced
tab, click the Performance button. Select a custom visual effects scheme
and select/deselect what you want, like the "Use drop shadows for icon
labels on the desktop".
