Hi
I was receiving an error with my Internet Security. It told me to uninstall Internet Security and then reinstall it
So i uninstalled Internet Security and it removed Nortons Antivirus and Internet Security from my machine
Now i want to reinstall both Internet Security and NAV, how do i go about this
Norton Antivirus came standard with my copy of XP 2002
Thanks

It had been my experience that not only must you eliminate Norton/Symantec
from the Add/Remove programs list and any/all files, but also delete them
from the Registry (HKEY_CURRENT-USER and HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE) as well.
Complete removal can prove just as troublesome as most viruses.

Norton Antivirus isn't part of Windows, it's a separate program from a
different company. You'd need to install it from the CD it came on. If it
was preinstalled on your computer and you didn't get a disk, you'd have to
contact the computer manufacturer to see what you need to do.

You see when I installed xp, before i did so i formatted my pc
After insatlling xp i had Nortons Antivirus installed so i think it came with the xp cd?

Thanks Johan,
the problem is that .exe file you referred removes Norton from my pc, i need to reinstall it somehow
Any help would be great
Thanks

It's not part of XP, but it might have been included on an OEM disk from
your computer manufacturer. It's up to the manufacturers what to include
when they sell a computer, and many will include extra programs like a word
processor or office suite, or utilities like antivirus programs.

But just because it was on that disk doesn't mean it is part of XP or that
it came from Microsoft. Norton Antivirus is made by Symantec and is not a
standard part of the XP installation. Thus, no one really knows how to
reinstall the program as we don't know what sort of disk you have or how the
OEM customized it.
