How do I re-create/undelete/restore deleted NTFS partition information?

I accidently deleted two partitions on one of my drives
during installation of XP. This was a mistake and I quit
the installation hoping that no damage was done, but the
partitions where gone...

Does anyone have information to provide so that I can re-
create the original partition information? I have not
formatted or overwritten the information.

I tried booting up with Partition Magic 8, but the app
could not "undelete" the partition information. Any other
tips?

Thanks, Rypos

Boot to xp cd,recovery, press enter key for password,at
the curser type:DiskPart
See whats listed first, typing:HELP Brings up menu
You can type:list volumes For info
If alls lost,either work in DiskPart,or type:EXIT
Then type:FORMAT /? brings up info FORMAT C: /FS:ntfs
Formats the drive with options to create partitions also.
Typing:HELP in either gives menu

that method will restore the partition information
without destroying the data in the partition? looks to me
like it would just write a new partition... :(

If you really need the data on the deleted partitions, you will likely need
to contact a data recovery service. There isn't really any software that can
help you do what you're looking for.

Sure there is. Since the OP only deleted the partition records and
then stopped when he realized the mistake, the situation is actually
quite simple to recover.

See my sig for one of the better partition recovery programs, which is
also free.
