You need to use Word Art to outline your text (Icon located in Draw menu -
typically located at bottom of screen - otherwise: View > Tool Bars > Word
Art. Use fill and line color functions to select colors.

Thank you so much Sandy! You've been very helpful. I guess I should have
listened a bit better during my PowerPoint classes. LOL

How do I put an outline around a font in PowerPoint?

PowerPoint can't do this. Workarounds:

- Use a font that's an outline font in the first place
- Create the text in CorelDraw or some other similar program that can create
outline text

Or:

Create your text and give it the color you want for the outline
Dupe it and line the dupe back up with the original.
Press Ctrl+LeftArrow four times
Dupe that (it should stay lined up with its original but if not, line it back
up)
Press Ctrl+RightArrow twice then Ctrl+UpArrow twice

....

repeat; your goal is to create four pieces of text, each offset from an
imaginary center by two Ctrl+Nudges

Finally, create the last bit of text, give it two nudges back so it sits in
the center of and atop all the other text and assign it the text color you
want.

Now select them all and group them. Fast. Before you sneeze and ruin it all.
;-)
