How do I print one page for a letter rather than two

I'm printing a one page letter, but I get that page printed and an additional
blank page from the printer. When doing a mail merge I get letter, blank,
letter, blank, letter, etc. What setting is needed to fix this so I just get
the single page to print? What am I doing wrong, what do I need to do to fix
this? Thanks, Bob.
