How do I print mailing labels for contacts in Outlook

I cannot believe that there is not a 'view' for address labels (omitting the
telephone number), and a print layout, when I see how simple it is in Lotus
Organizer 97.

Do I really have to mess about with mailmerge and Word for what should be a
principal advantage at Christmas time (I send 200 cards !)

If there is no other solution I will abandon Outlook, as it has little other
use for me.

Mail merge is a most excellent way to create labels to fit the exact label stock you have. What do you have against it? For best results, start in your Contacts folder and choose Tools | Mail merge.

You can certainly define a view that shows exactly the data you want.

Other people seem to have no problem with it.

Use whatever tool works best for you.

Sorry, my views haven't changed. I decided to go your way, highly
complicated, unsuccessful and even if it had worked for me, what a rigmarole
for once a year, by which time I would have forgotten it all. I still think
that a simple label printing routine ought to be built in to Outlook. Those
who look for complexity will presumably have a need for, or an obsession
with, regular communication and will either learn or do without. I think I
will stick with Lotus Organizer 97 which did what I want 8 years ago. But
thanks anyway.

You had nothing constructive to say, in fact I detect a hint of insult in
your remarks.
I only tried to use Outlook because I have it, it is all new to me, I am
sorry if I upset your sensitivities. You won't hear from me again.

Well, I can certainly understand why there isn't such a routine in Outlook -- because it would require duplicating the work that's already been done in Word to provide support for umpteen dozen different label formats. I imagine Microsoft would rather use their resources to create new features and refine existing ones rather than to reinvent the wheel.

FWIW, I use it every year and get my labels done in about 5 minutes.
