How do I prevent Outlook from creating multiple archive files?

I have my indivdual personal folders set to archive to one archive.pst file.
However, everytime autoarchive runs, Outlook creates 2 additional archive
files in 2 different folders. An additional folder (archive1.pst) in the
Outlook folder that is normally receiving the archived messages (as set in
the folder properties), and an additional archive.pst under a varied spelling
of my user name. I've deleted the unwanted archive files from Outlook using
File>Data Management and also manually removed them from the hard drive using
Windows Explorer. However, everytime Autoarchive runs, the additional folders
are created again. The orignal outlook.pst and archive.pst files were copied
and pasted into the desired Outlook folder from another Dell when this new
one was put online. Does anyone have any ideas on how to permanently remove
those additional archive.pst files and prevent Outlook from re-creating them
everytime autoarchive runs?

Since each folder can have its own independent archive settings, it sounds
like you have two folders set to archive in those extra PSTs.

That's what I originally also thought. However, I've checked the autoarchive
properties on all personal folders and the paths are set to the correct
archive.pst. When the new archive.pst folders are created, the only folders
present in those new folders are the "Deleted Items" and "Search Folders",
while all my personal folders show up in the desired archive.pst folder.

Well, all PSTs will contain a Deleted Items folder and search folders aren't
really folders at all, just collections of messages in other folders.
Search folders should appear only in an Exchange mailbox.

Agreed. However, those folders continue to be the only ones that show up in
the additional archive.pst files when autoarchive runs. So back to the
original question - Given that the autoarchive properties on all presonal
folders are pathed to the desire archive.pst, what is causing the creation of
the 2 unwanted archive.pst files when autoarchive runs?
