I do most of my homework on an old Pentium 133 because it harbours less
distractions than my main computer. This means I have to use the Microsoft
Works 4.0 that came with it. Unfortunately, it's not connected to the printer
so I have to put the Works files on a floppy, bring them to the other
computer, open them in Word, and print. Now, up until about a week ago this
was okay. The first time I tried it, Word had me install the text converter
and everything went fine after that. But then I decided it was time for a
wipe, (the Windows installation was about 9 months old) so I backed up my
files, wiped the hard drive, and reinstalled everything. Standard operating
procedure. The problem is, now when I try to open .wps files with Word, it
doesn't ask me to install the converter. It just opens them as garbled text.
I did a full install this time as well as the previous time (including Office
Shared Files and Office Tools), so I know I'm not missing anything I had
before. Does anyone know where I can find the text converter I need?
