I need to line up text boxes and sometimes the options are too big of a move.
I thought I was shown once how to adjust the increments of a move, but I
can't remember the steps.I am using Word 2003,XP

Hold the Alt key while you drag the box. This temporarily turns off the
snap-to-grid behavior.

To control the grid itself, display the Drawing toolbar, click the Draw
button at the left, and click Grid. In that dialog, you can make the grid
size smaller or semipermanently turn the snap off and on. Note that changing
the grid size also affects where tab stops go when you click on the ruler.

Hi N-

You can use the arrow keys to nudge the selected box(es) as necessary,
Ctrl+Arrow nudges in smaller increments.

Even better, if you select multiple objects you can click the Draw button on
the Drawing Toolbar, go to 'Align or Distribute' and choose the appropriate
comand to align/space the objects relative to one another.
