How do I make Outlook XP work in Windows Vista?

I bought a new gateway pc with Windows Vista Home Premium edition. I asked
several "vista certified" sales people to be sure that my Office XP would
work and I wouldn't have to spend another $300 on Office 2007. On that
assurance, I bought the pc and loaded my office suite. Evgerything seems to
be working properly with the very important exception of Outlook. It will not
let me enter any new appointments and each time I open it up, I get a message
saying "The custom form could not be opened. Outlook will use an Outlook form
instead. An error occurred registering the form in the OLE registry." and
then for each reminder I had previously set, I get another similar message.
Someone, anyone, please HELP!

Sounds like you installed an old add-on that doesn't run properly in
Vista. What happens when you start Outlook in safe mode ("outlook.exe
/safe")? If no errors, you have an add-on that you need to get updated.
