In Outlook 2003 email menus under tools/AutoCorrect options/AutoFormat as you
type, I have "replace as you type-fractions with fraction character' checked.
When typing 1/2, the fraction character appears. At first, I could not get
the 1/4 character to appear. I went to a blank area at the bottom of the
email draft and typed it in and it appeard correctly, so I was able to cut &
paste it. But I cannot get 1/8 or any other fraction to appear as a fraction
characterat all.
Why do some fractions show up as fraction characters and others do not? This
looks like a big bug in Outlook, but if I am doing something wrong please
reply & let me know. I would like all my fractions to look the same using the
fraction character.

.
Use the Arial Unicode MS fonts.

I added the arial unicode font to office, but that didn't do the trick. Even
after selecting the arial unicode font, the 1/2 & 1/4 fractions appear as
fraction characters; any other fraction does not.

I don't think the Arial font contains any fractions other than ¼, ½, and ¾.
