I am a single-user on WinXP Pro (first and only user) who
has never intentionally set up passwords or restricted
access to the default administrator settings. Yet when I
start up I am only given access to my single-user name
(administrator is not listed as a choice). Problem is
that I'm trying to get rid of the Swen worm/virus and
regedit.exe is restricted by default to use by the
administrator. How do I either: (1) run XP as the
administrator or (2) authorize me as the single-user to
use regedit.exe & other programs? (Please consider
responding by e-mail because as a user of a Swen-infected
computer I can't risk being online too long to check the
newsgroup responses). Thank you in advance for whatever
help you can give me.
