My Windows XP Home desktop locks after about 15 minutes and I have have
to re-enter my password. How can I prevent this from happening and keep
the desktop active? Is the only way to disable power saving?

TIA,
Dave

Hi Dave,

Right click the Desktop/Properties/Screen Saver tab, look at the options
for your Screen saver and also Uncheck the "On resume, password protect"
option.

Also in the Monitor Power settings using the Power button. Look on the
Advanced tab, and the Options section, uncheck the "Prompt for password when
computer resumes from standby" option.

easy enough I think. right click desktop, properties,
screen saver, uncheck 'on resume display logon screen',
apply there might be another spot to do this too and at
the moment i can not remamber where it is but this should work.

Right click on desktop
Click on properties
Under Screen saver tab make sure box next to "On Resume, password protect"
is not checked.
Click on POWER button chenge the power scheme settings to NEVER
That should do the trick

In Control Panel - Display, screensaver page, uncheck the box 'On resume
password protect'

Also click the Power button, and on the Advanced page check 'prompt fore
password when computer resumes from Standby'
