Been asked to help to clean the system, so I do as usual, clear the cache,
history and temp folder. Then I did the defragement. In the Printer and
faxes, there are various printer icons which the printers are connrcted to
the print server. To my surprise, after the defrag, all the printers icons
disappeared (and when I try to print, it ask me to install the printer.
Question is why did the icons gone missing and how can I get back to the
print icons. Thanks

Just clearing out temp files like that shouldn't have affected your
printers. Check to ensure that your print spooler service is running.

They are not running. when I isue these commands in the command prompt "stop
spoolers", it says it is not a recongnise command

As that isn't a valid command, the result is understandable. Run
services.msc to check the status and restart the services if needed.
