how do i install support for macros in word 2002 so i dont get error messages
when opening word?

In Word, click on Tools | Macro | Security. If the current security level is
High, change it to Medium. The medium setting will prompt you to say yes or
no to each macro that attempts to run. Do not change the security level to
Low, because the low setting allows all macros to run automatically without
warning, which makes Word vulnerable to macro viruses.

Also set macro security to trust installed templates and add-ins. You should
then only get a prompt (not an error message) if the document contains
macros.

thanks for for responding both of you.
I am not even trying to run macros or have any macros or know how to use
macros. I dont know why I am getting the message about macros every time i
open word to a blank document. "The function you are attemting to run
contains macros etc"

Thank You
The link you gave me worked.
Adding com add-ins to the tools menu and then unchecking the ones that were
checked.
