I have a plugin that needs it and O2k3 reports that mapi is not installed. I
do not use O2k3 to connect to an exchange server so I guess it is running in
IMO mode (if this exists in 2003-I've read that WC mode installs mapi or cdo
or something)

MAPI can mean a lot of things from Simple MAPI to CDO 1.21. There is no
Internet only mode with Outlook 2003, but the installation of CDO 1.21 is
optional since Outlook 2000.

If CDO 1.21 (CDO.DLL) is what the addin is looking for it's on the Office
CD. Open the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs application. Select your
version of Office and click on the Change button. Follow the wizard steps to
add or remove components to Office and expand the Outlook tree node and make
sure Collaboration Data Objects (CDO 1.21) is installed to your local hard
drive. You will need the Office CD for this.

If CDO is not what you are talking about then please explain further.
