How do i install a win 95 game when running win xp

i have tried all i know on how to do it i have tries to access compatiablility wizard but can not get it to work i believe it is because the program needs to be installed first not sure what to do no

Check with the computer manufacturer for compatibility.
Most but not all are somewhat compatible.
You may need a patch from the manufacturer or you may need a newer
version.
