I'm creating a form in word, but I would like users to be able to type in a
company name once, and have it appear throughout the document in various
areas.

Once the form is protected I don't see a way round this at all.

I'm using word 2000.

any help would be very much appreciated! thanks.

Before you protect the form, insert cross references to the text of the
bookmark assigned to the company name formfield and in the Properties dialog
of that field, check the "Calculate on exit" box so that the cross
references are updated to show the date entered into the field. Then
protect the form.
