how do I insert exponents and radicands in word?

Im wondering as to how I can insert various types of math expressions such as
radicands and exponents in word documents
 
For complex expressions, use Equation Editor. For simple exponents, use
Format | Font | Superscript (or Ctrl+Shift+=).

and various other math symbols.
