How do I insert a floating graphic in a table?

Hi ~

I have a Word '97 document that I converted to Word 2003. Although the
"floating" (repositionable) graphics I had in several table cells appear,
they disappear when I try to move them or try to insert new ones.

The '97 graphics had "none" selected as a "wrapping style" in the "format
object" options, but no such option is available in 2003. I've tried every
wrapping option 2003 offers to no avail.

Any ideas? This is a huge 83-page document and I'd rather not retype it!
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Wendy

There are exceptional circumstances when a floating graphic in a table might
be a good idea, but most of the time I find that making the graphic in-line
(rather than floating) is the easiest way to control graphics.

Double-click the graphic, or choose Format > Picture. On the Layout tab,
choose In line with text. "In-line" means "not floating". The graphic will
behave like one very large character.

The following has additional info that may be helpful:

You can also control the default for how Word pastes new graphics at Tools >
Options > Edit. Use the drop-down at "Insert/paste pictures as".

Hope this helps.
