How do I insert a city map?

I would like to insert a city map and be able to put tags with addresses on
it. I have been told that Excel can automatically recognise and insert an
address on a map.

Depends upon version of Excel and whether or not you have Map Point installed.

With versions 2002 and 2003 you would click on Insert>Map from Map Point.

You could then insert a city map with pushpins for your addresses. The
pushpins can have flags attached showing the address.
